DOCBA Team Begins New Biblical Journey

The Diocese of Cubao Biblical Apostolate (DOCBA) held its first official meeting at the Spes Pilgrim Center following the appointment of its new team by Bishop Elias Ayuban, Jr. The gathering marks a fresh beginning for the diocese’s revitalized commitment to biblical ministry and animation.

The meeting brought together the newly appointed diocesan team, led by Fr. Randy Flores, SVD, who serves as Team Leader. Joining him on the core team are Fr. Raul Caga, SVD, Jun Buena, Deng Tengco, and Freda Gemora.

Key agenda items during the meeting included:

1. A Bible Talk on the Book of Genesis, to be held on July 16 at 6:00 PM at the SPES Center in collaboration with the Catholic Biblical Association of the Philippines. The speaker will be Fr. Kris Sonek, OP, an Australian biblical scholar.

2. Meeting of parish-based biblical animators on the same day, July 16, at 4:00 PM, to finalize DOCBA’s calendar and present the proposed budget for the ministry.

3. Planning for the NCR-wide Gathering of Biblical Apostolates scheduled for October 4, 2025, which will be hosted by the Diocese of Caloocan.

4. Launch of the Certificate in Biblical Studies (CBS), set for Saturday, August 16, 2025.

5. Promotion of the “Walking with the Word” series, a formation program designed for parish-based biblical ministers.

6. Initial preparations for the 5th “City on a Hill” Bible Festival, scheduled for January 24, 2026.

The meeting concluded with a renewed spirit of collaboration and commitment to biblical formation and animation throughout the Diocese of Cubao.
